A construction worker admitted on raping and killing a one-year old baby boy in Makati City on Wednesday.
In an exclusive interview of Bombo Radyo with Makati police spokesperson Maj. Gideon Ines, he identified the suspect as Gerald Reparip, 27, intoxicated when he did the heinous crime.
“Siya ay dayo lang. Bisita nung tiyuhin ng biktima na galing trabaho sa Muntinlupa. Sila ay nag-inuman sa bahay (nung biktima). Ayon sa magulang, karga-karga pa raw (ng suspek) ‘yung bata at nilalambing pa. Kaya hindi raw niya sukat akalain na magagawa niya ‘yon,” said Ines.
According to the authorities, the infant’s grandmother found his body around 12:30 a.m. at an abandoned building and was rushed to Sta. Ana hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
“Natagpuan (‘yung bata) sa abandonadong building. Sa 7th floor kung saan sila nakatira. Nakakita ng diapers yung imbestigador sa crime scene. Pagdating nila sa ospital, nakita nila ‘yung katawan nung bata na malaki ‘yung butas ng puwet. May mga pasa rin sa katawan, may dugo ‘yung ilong. May (indikasyon din) ng unto, lamog ‘yung ulo,” the policeman added.
A witness claimed he saw the suspect carrying the victim.
Police also found in the crime scene was the boy’s diaper.
In an investigation conducted by the authorities, they found a wound on the baby’s anus.
During the initial questioning, the suspect admitted that he was drun and he could not remember the crime he committed.
