At least 12 people have been killed and 4 still missing after three motorized bancas capsized in the waters between Iloilo and Guimaras on Saturday afternoon.
As of 12:00 in the afternoon, the boats Chi-Chi and Keziah capsized after being hit by a strong gusts of wind.
In an exclusive interview of Bombo Radyo Iloilo with deputy commander Senior Chief Petty Officer Albino Rodriguez of Philippine Coast Guard-Iloilo Station, said the boats came from Iloilo and was travelling to Jordan, Guimaras when the incident happened.
Chi-chi had at least 43 passengers while Keziah had four crew members onboard.
While 32 passengers and crew of the two boats were rescued.
Two hours after the incident, the motorized banca Jenny Vince also capsized in the same waters. The said boat had 30 passengers onboard.
As of this writing, Philippine Coast Guard is still conducting a rescue operation in Iloilo area./ with reports from Bombo Radyo Iloilo; edited by Bombo Sol Marquez.
