A riot that happened in the biggest prison in Ecuador killed at least 12 people and left 3 other injured.
It all started earlier this week after 6 prisoners were found hanging and 3 guards were also shot dead during lunch break just in front of the prison.
Every year, a lot of riots happen in Ecuador’s prisons resulting in several deaths.
Last November, at least 8 prisoners were killed in Quito’s “El Inca” prison while in January another prisoner was killed.
As of now, the riot is under control according to the national prison service.
