Nakatakdang isailalim sa rapid antibody test ang lahat ng depot personnel ng Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) matapos mag-positibo sa COVID-19 ang 15 manggagawa nito.
Ayon kay MRT-3 director for operations Michael Capati, nag-utos na rin siya para ulitin ang malawakang disinfection sa depot ng kanilang train system.
“The health and safety of our employees and passengers are primordial to us. All employees will be required to undergo testing,” ani Capati sa isang statement.
“We have been conducting disinfection in the depot, at stations, and in trains. We will continue to implement these and other measures to contain the spread of the virus in our workplace, stations, and trains.”
Ang Philippine Coast Guard ang naatasang manguna sa rapid test ng mga depot personnel. Agad namang tutulak sa confirmatory test gamit ang RT-PCR kits ang mga magpo-positibo sa rapid test.
Papayuhan din daw ang mga ito na mag-self quarantine habang hinihintay ang resulta ng confirmatory test.
Tiniyak naman ng pamunuan ng MRT-3 na magpapatupad sila ng karagdagang safety protocols para sa limitadong interaksyon ng mga depot at station personnel.
“We have the best interest of our passengers and employees at heart. We want to immediately address the situation to prevent more people from contracting the disease,” ayon sa director for operations.
Noong June 14 iniulat ng MRT-3 maintenance provider na Sumitomo-MHI-TESPI na isa sa kanilang personnel ang nag-positibo sa RT-PCR test. Mula naman sa 32 na naging contact nito, 14 ang nag-positibo rin sa parehong test.
Sa ngayon patuloy daw ang contact tracing ng otoridad sa iba pang nakasalamuha ng 14 na depot personnel na nag-test positive.
“Identified contacts have been advised to undergo self-quarantine and RT-PCR testing before going back to work at the MRT-3 depot,” nakasaad sa MRT-3 statement.
