The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested two alleged members of Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in two separate operations in Quezon City and Manila.
The suspects were identified as Julamin Mawan Ismael Maomar Timbao alias “Ibno Ayob” and Anwar Sabarul Mohotoh alias “Ayyub”.
NBI-Counter Terrorism Division conducted the arrest of Mohotoh in Quiapo, Maynila with help from Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Mohotoh has a standing warrant of arrest for kidnapping and serious illegal detention. The suspect was allegedly involved in the kidnapping of six members of Jehovah’s Witness in 2002.
The suspect’s group even beheaded two of the victims on August 20, 2002.
While Julmain was arrested in Brgy. Culiat, Quezon City who is also believed to be involved in kidnapping and serious illegal detention.
They are currently being held at NBI detention facility while awaiting their transfer to the Special Intensive Care Area in Taguig City’s Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). / with reports from Bombo Jerald B. Ulep; edited by Bombo Sol Marquez.
