New Zealand authorities confirmed that two overseas Filipino workers were killed after an incident involving a car and train in Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand were called to the scene at 8:15am and three firefighters were deployed in the area.

The OFWs were son their way to their work as fruit pickers when the accident happened.

FENZ has confirmed the road is closed and diversions are in place.

No children were involved.

Three of the injured Filipinos were now in stable condition.

The authorities are expected to release the names of the victims since they are still trying to inform their families and employers.
