At least 59 migrants died after a wooden migrant boat was smashed by waves into a rocky reef off the Italian coast.
“As of a few minutes ago, the number of confirmed victims was 59,” Vincenzo Voce, mayor of the coastal city of Crotone confirmed.
Along with the victims was a few months old infant, said the rescue worker.
On the other note, around 80 people survived the said incident.
There were more than 200 people on the vessel and as of now, a lot of people are missing.
