Mabusising tinalakay sa Cabinet meeting sa Malacañang kagabi ang paghahanda para sa nalalapit na midterm elections sa May 13, araw ng Lunes.

Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, nagbigay ng presentasyon ang Department of Interior and Local Government at Department of National Defense kaugnay sa preparasyon ng Philippine National Police at Armed Forces of the Philippines sa pagtiyak ng seguridad sa 2019 elections.

Ayon kay Sec. Panelo, naka-deploy na rin ang mga security forces lalo sa mga election hot spots para maiwasan ang anumang karahasan.

“Also in the agenda are the government’s preparations for the upcoming May 13, 2019 elections. The Department of Education informed that the teachers who will serve in the Election Day will receive honoraria and travel allowance. The Department of Interior and Local Government, along with the Department of National Defense assured that the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines are ready to secure the 2019 elections. Security forces are already deployed especially in election hot spots to prevent occurrence of any violence,” ani Sec. Panelo.

Samantala, ang Department of Energy ay tiniyak na may sapat na supply ng koryente sa Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

“Likewise, the Department of Energy affirmed that we have a sufficient supply of power in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. For its part, the DFA mentioned that its department is expecting a higher voter turnout for Overseas Absentee Voting,” dagdag ni Sec. Panelo.
