MANILA – Walong research and development (R&D) projects ang nilagdaan ng Pilipinas at China bilang bahagi ng kasunduang nilagdaan ng dalawang bansa noong 2019.

Kung maalala pumirma ng Memorandum of Understanding on S&T Cooperation ang parehong estado noong Agosto 2019 para palakasin ang partnership ng bansa at Beijing sa larangan ng science and technology.

“The Call for Proposals for the DOST-MOST JRP was released last May 2020, and was able to solicit a total of 37 capsule proposals submission from Filipino researchers all over the Philippines, and was further reviewed and matched with MOST to come up with the 8 proposals for funding and implementation,” ayon sa Department of Science and Technology.

Nitong Miyerkules, February 24, inilunsad ng DOST at Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) ang JRP.

Sa naturang programa na rin inanunsyo ang walong proposals na napili ng dalawang ahensya.

Kabilang sa mga napiling proyekto ang:

  1. Green Oil and Phytochemicals from Cashew (DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute/Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences)
  2. The Belt and Road of avian infectious Diseases — Intervention Strategies to Predict, Prevent and Control Disease Outbreaks Caused by Emerging Strains of Newcastle Disease Viruses and Avian influenza viruses in Philippines and China (DA-Bureau of Animal Industry/Jilin University)
  3. SinoPhil CHARRME: China-Philippines Cooperation for Harnessing and Accelerating Research and Resources on Microvesicles and Exosomes (University of San Agustin/Tsinghua University)
  4. Key technological research on portable power generation based on gasification of municipal solid wastes and agricultural biomass pretreated by co-hydrothermal treatment (Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology/East China University of Science and Technology)
  5. Research on the key technology of refined assessment of solar energy resources for photovoltaic power generation and development potential in low latitude area / Solar PV Resource and Installation Assessment Using Geospatial Technologies (University of the Philippines/China Meteorological Administration Public Meteorological Service Centre)
  6. Developing of techniques for detecting parasitic helminth infections and for alerting transmission as well as evaluation of their safety risk (UP-Institute of Biology/Shanghai Tenth People’s Hospital)
  7. The development of high-performance and low-cost membrane electrode assembly for alkaline fuel cell based on ion/electron dual conducting catalyst layers (University of the Philippines/Hefei University of Technology)
  8. Evolutionary dynamics and phylogenetic analysis of rabies virus in the Philippines (DA-Bureau of Animal Industry/Jilin University)

Ipapatupad ng mga napiling paaralan sa China ang mga proyekto sa loob ng dalawang taon. Makakatanggap ng P8-million at 1-million Chinese Yuan R&D fund ang bawat proyekto.
