Walong sundalo ang sugatan sa panibagong engkwentro laban sa mga teroristang Abu Sayyaf group (ASG) sa Sulu.
Nagsasagawa ng “focused military operations” ang mga operating troops ng Joint Task Force Sulu nang maka-engkwentro ang nasa 40 armadong Abu Sayyaf members sa ilalim umano ng pamumuno ni Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan at Radullan Sahiron sa Barangay Buhanginan, Patikul, Sulu kahapon ng umaga.
Tumagal ng halos 40 minuto ang sagupaan na ikinasugat ng walong sundalo.
Kasalukuyang ginagamot na sa Camp Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital sa Busbus, Jolo ang walong sugatang sundalo.
“I salute our gallant soldiers for their bravery and utmost dedication to their sworn duty,” wika ni Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Western Mindanao Command. “Rest assured that we will further intensify our operations to neutralize the remaining bandits in Sulu and all the provinces under the operational control of the command.”
