A local agriculturist testified in the bribery and corruption trials of former senator and current Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile, his former senate chief of staff Gigi Reyes, and former businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles.
In her judicial affidavit, witness Leonora Bolinas stated that the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Enrile did not provide any agricultural assistance to her community, Doa Remedios Trinidad, in 2008.
During her cross-examination, Napoles’ lawyer questioned Bolinas as she was not the municipal agricultural officer in 2008.
But the prosecution said she was the agricultural technologist at the time of the PDAF scam.
The Supreme Court required Reyes’ actual presence in all of her hearings, if necessary, as one of the requirements for her release from custody, and the court made note of this during the hearing.
The prosecution produced five farmers at the previous hearing in January, and each of them testified that neither their local government nor any office had given them any agricultural packages.
