Two trains collide in Greece killing at least 36 people and leaving 66 injured.
The train was carrying more than 350 passengers when it collided with a freight train in Tempi, Central Greece near the city of Larissa.
As the passenger train traversed from the capital Athens to Thessaloniki, it changed lanes and switched to a cargo track resulting in the collision.
As of now, the rescue operation is ongoing focusing on the first carriages of the passenger train and the death toll is expected to rise.
“All the actions of the firefighters operating on the scene are focused on the first three carriages of the train,” spokesman, Vassilis Varthakogiannis said.
Around 150 firefighters together with 17 vehicles and 30 ambulances are already in the area for the rescue operation.
