BAGUIO CITY -Tears and prayers flowed Sunday at the ecumenical prayer rally for former PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and now Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.
A religious sector organized the said prayer vigil held at Malcolm Square in Baguio City. Magalong recently confirmed that he keeps on receiving death threats after revealing information against Philippine National chief General Albayalde and his connection to the so-called “ninja cops.”
Mayor Magalong got emotional after he knelt in front of the lit candles and silently uttered his prayers.
In his speech, the Mayor admitted he was shocked by the support shown by those people who believe in him. He was expecting a small and solemn Ecumenical Prayer Rally for Faith and Trust.
The prayer rally gave him inspiration to continue fighting for the truth, Magalong said.
He even apologized to the residence of Baguio because he cannot focus on their city due to the Senate hearing where he became a resource person.
Mayor Magalong also revealed that one of his friends received an information from a former hitman that a certain “Rommel” was asked to kill the mayor.
But despite the death threats, Magalong stated that “all hell will break loose” if ever one of his family members will get hurt.
However, Magalong assured his supporters that authorities are still conducting an investigation on the death threats he received.
