As the Russian forces continue to invade the city of Bakhmut, the situation in the said area is getting worse says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
For the past 6 months, the Russian forces is trying to dominate the city.
“The enemy is constantly destroying everything that can be used to protect our positions”, President Zelensky said.
Some of the intense fightings between Russia and Ukraine happened in Bakhmut, some in Ukraine’s Donetsk region which part of it was already dominated by Russia.
“Despite significant losses, the enemy threw in the most prepared assault units of Wagner, who are trying to break through the defenses of our troops and surround the city,” commander of Ukraine’s ground forces, Col Gen Oleksandr Syrskyi said.
On the nightly address of President Zelensky, he thanks the Ukrainians for “heroically holding” the area.
He even called for backup modern combat aircraft to defend Ukraine from the invasion of Russian forces.
