Naging emosyonal si US President elect Joe Biden sa pamamaalam niya sa kaniyang kababayan sa Delaware bago ito tuluyang manumpa sa White House.
Sa kaniyang talumpati, sinabi niya na maipagmamalaki pa rin siyang anak ng Delaware kahit na ito ay pangulo na ng buong US.
Mananatili palagi sa kaniyang puso ang Delaware.
Inialay din niya ang kaniyang tagumpay sa halalan sa pumanaw na anak nitong si Beau noong 2015 dahil sa cancer sa edad na 46.
“Through the good times and the bad I want to thank you for everything, to my fellow Delawareans on behalf of the entire Biden family that’s here today, we want to express how much you mean to me and to every one of us,” ani Biden sa pagsasalita sa Delaware National Guard headquarters sa New Castle County. “So it’s deeply personal that our next journey to Washington starts here, a place that defines the very best of who we are as Americans. I know these are dark times, but there’s always light. That’s what makes this state so special. That’s what it taught me, it taught me the most, there’s always light.”
