Tuluyan nang naghain ng election protest si dating Vice President Jejomar Binay laban kay Makati Rep. Kid Peña na tumalo sa kanya sa 2019 midterm elections.
Sa 70 pahinang electoral protest, hiniling ni Binay sa House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET) na magsagawa ng manual recount sa mga balotang ginamit sa 235 clustered precincts sa Makati CIty.
Ayon kay Binay, tinatayang 9,050 boto ang null o mali ang pagkakabasa.
“It must be remembered and emphasized that in the present democratic system, leaders shall be determined by the plurality of votes cast by the people and not by the glitches of the VCMs,” bahagi ng electoral protest ni Binay.
Nabatid na aabot sa 6,000 boto ang lamang ni Peña, na dating vice mayor ng Makati City, laban kay Binay.
