Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) urged tax payers to file and pay their 2018 Income Tax Returns (ITR) on or before deadline, April 15 for a hassle-free experience.
Atty. Marisa Cabreros, BIR spokesperson said in a press briefing in Malacañang, this will give taxpayers equal opportunity to get rid of penalties such surcharges (25%), interests (12%), and compromised penalties (graduated) to those who can’t file income tax after deadline.
It is also best to pay taxes before deadline, Cabreros advised to avoid long cues and hassles at the BIR offices.
Payment of the taxes due maybe done manually through the Authorized Agent Banks (AABs) or with the Revenue Collection Offices (RCOs) while online payment can be made with GCash, LBP, LinBiz ATM/Debit Cards, DBP Tax Online Credit/ATM/Debit Cards, or eFPS for eFPS filers.
Meanwhile, Tax Filing Assistance Centers were set-up at all BIR Revenue District Offices to assist all taxpayers relative to electronic filing and payment inquiries and concerns.
April 15 is already Holy Week, thus tax collection body can no longer extend the set deadline of filing income tax, explained Cabreros.
