Nakatakdang bumalik sa Pilipinas si naturalized center Andray Blatche upang lumahok sa pagsasanay ng Philippine national team para sa 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Ayon kay team manager Gabby Cui, binabantayan umano ng Gilas ang pisikal na kondisyon ni Blatche habang ito’y nasa China.
“Dray’s staying in shape and he’s working out with a lot of teams, playing in as many teams as he can,” wika ni Cui.
“We can’t wait for him to be here for July.”
Inaasahang magbibigay ng sapat na oras kay Gilas head coach Yeng Guiao ang pagdating ni Blatche para ihanda ang naturalized import at ang national squad bilang preparasyon sa World Cup na idaraos sa China sa darating na Agosto 31.
Habang hinihintay si Blatche, mag-eensayo ng dalawang beses kada linggo ang Pinoy team, na naka-schedule tuwing Lunes at Huwebes.
“We’ll take it on Monday and Thursday next week and we’ll take it from there,” ani Cui. “What’s important, and what coach Yeng said is he wants to see the players give their best. He wants to see their best because when you come here, it’s more on jelling.”
