Bong Go pushes for Department of Disaster Management creation

Former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go stressed the need for the creation of the Department of Disaster Management. Go made the pronouncement following the two strong earthquakes that hit Luzon and Visayas.

President Rodrigo Duterte’s former aide assured that he will support the bill that is already pending in Congress.

“Suportado ko po ito. Isa po ito sa priority na napag -usapan (with President Rodrigo R. Duterte). Nasa Kongreso na po ito. Kailangan na po ipasa at suportado ko po ito,” Go said.

He furthered, “we need to intensify our advocacy on disaster preparedness, and we need a department like this to scale-up preparedness against earthquake and other disasters.”
