After ducking Benavidez and Andrade, the top three pound for pound king Canelo Alvarez picked Jermell Charlo on September 30, 2023.
On the other hand, Andrade vs Benavidez will be on November 24, 2023.
It can be recalled that World Boxing Council (WBC) interim super middleweight champion Benavidez called out Canelo after he defeated Caleb Plant. He even posted in his Instagram why Canelo is afraid of him. The latter ignored him even if there was a $50 million offer.
Same thing happened to Andrade as Canelo did not fight him when he was mandatory at 154 and 160. Andrade cursed Canelo to the core and still waiting as of this writing when they will clash,
Meanwhile, Benavidez needs to defend his interim WBC super middleweight title against World Boxing Organization (WBO) middleweight champ (2018-2022) Andrade.
Canelo vs Charlo has a special championship belt as the WBC will present a special edition belt along with middleweight belts of the WBC.
Reports said that Canelo will face the winner of Benavidez vs Andrade if he wins vs Charlo.
