Cardema eyes impeachment vs Poll commissioner Guanzon

Disqualified Duterte Youth party-list nominee Ronald Cardema said he is considering to file impeachment complaint against Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Rowena Guanzon for alleged extertion.

In an interview, Cardema said that he will continue his plan to oust Guanzon if someone will lend him a helping hand to file the case.

“Kung tutulungan kami ng mga lahat ng inagrabyado nitong tao na ‘to, baka makapag-file tayo ng isang impeachment complaint laban dito. Kasi yun lang naman ang pwedeng i-file dito sa isang impeachable officer,” he added.

The NYC official emotionally accused Guanzon of demanding cash and favors since January in exchange of the party-list group’s accreditation in January.

However, Guanzon denied the allegation and stressed out the cancellation of Cardema’s nomination because it violates the Party-list System Act.

The Malacanang palace distanced itself from the issue and said that they won’t meddle into the feud as it is not part of their job.
