The quest of finally being called an NBA champion and to have that ring in the finger is what’s driving Carmelo Anthony towards the 2021-22 NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I reached a lot of the individual goals, but there’s only one thing right now for me,” said Anthony on USA TODAY Sports.
“That’s the only thing I have to think about it, could think about and should think about. Everything else should be irrelevant,” added the 10x All-Star.
Anthony is now or ever to capture the elusive Larry O’Brien trophy as he teamed up with his best friend LeBron James and Anthony Davis and newly recruit Russell Westbrook.
“This team is a well-put-together team with all the right pieces to win a championship,” he said on the roster of the Lakers heading into the new season.
Anthony revived his NBA career in Portland after sitting out for more than a year.
He then proved himself that he still belongs and now has the chance to complete his decorated NBA career with a championship final.
