UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou likes his chances to face the WBC heavyweight king next.
It was the Gypsy King who proposed the fight after he defeated Dillian Whyte in another exceptional fight.
In an interview with the MMA Hour podcast, Ngannou stressed that both sides want the fight to happen, and they respect each other.
‘Probably next year it will happen. I think it’s going to happen, it’s just a matter of our promotions, but we will sort this out at some point,” he added.
Likewise, Fury responded about the possible fight.
“This is going to be one extraordinary fight. It’ll be something never before seen in the history of our sport,” he said in an ESPN interview.
“We’re not talking two guys around 140lb. I’m 270lb. He’s 270lb. It’s going to be an explosive fight when it happens.”
“I’m the heavyweight boxing champion, he’s the UFC heavyweight champion, he’s in great shape, look at the muscles on him.”
