Nilinaw ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) na hindi sila magsasagawa ng pilot testing sa face-to-face classes simula sa buwan ng Hulyo.
Ayon kay CHED Chairman Prospero De Vera, hindi raw ito totoo at posibleng nagkamali lamang daw ng pag-unawa sa kanyang sinabi.
“The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) last May 13, 2020 has approved the opening of classes for higher education institutions (HEIs) that will use flexible learning in August. So there will be no face-to-face classes in July 2020,” saad ni De Vera sa isang pahayag.
Paliwanag pa ni De Vera, sa huling pulong ng Inter-Agency Task Force, bumuo raw sila ng panibagong category na “MGCQ low risk” para sa mga lugar na walang panibagong kaso ng COVID-19 sa huling 28 araw.
Sa nasabi ring meeting, pinayagan ng IATF ang Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) na magsagawa ng limited face-to-face na Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) training programs simula sa susunod na buwan.
“This is the reason why CHED, in consultation with the Department of Health (DOH), is now crafting guidelines for possible limited face-to-face classes in low risk MGCQ areas as part of the flexible learning system,” ani De Vera.
Binabalak daw ng komisyon na isumite sa IATF ang guidelines sa huling bahagi ng Hunyo o unang bahagi ng Hulyo.
“If approved, I will personally visit the HEIs who will redesign their classrooms, libraries, auditoriums, cafeterias and other facilities based on health protocols and guidelines and see if limited face-to-face is possible in low risk MGCQ areas,” anang opisyal.
“I will do this in July and recommend to the IATF the applicable policies for the opening of classes in August,” dagdag nito.
