Kinumpirma ni Southern Command (SOLCOM) chief Lt Gen. Gilbert Gapay na may permit mula sa local government ng Lobo, Batangas kaya nasa bansa ang Chinese dredging vessel.
Ayon kay Gapay , ang nasabing barko ay gagamitin para sa dredging at desilting ng Lobo River.
May pinirmahang kontrata ang Lobo LGU at Seagate Engineering and Buildsystems, na isang Filipino Company para sa gagawing pagbubungkal ilog ng Lobo.
Naisumutie na rin sa MARIBA central office at NSA para sa pag isyu ng “Special permit for utilizationâ€.
Dagdag pa ni Gapay, ang presensiya ng nasabing barko ay cleared na sa Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).
Sa ngayon ang Phil Coast Guard ang nakatutok sa nasabing barko ang M/V Emerald na isang registered vessel na minamanduhan ng mga Indonesian at Chinese nationals.
Biyernes ng hapon nuong March 29 ng makita sa marine protected area sa Lobo, Batangas ang nasabing barko.
” Per coordination with Coast Guard Batangas and based on the report of our Littoral Monitoring Station in Mindoro, the ship sighted off the coast of Lobo, Batangas is M/V Emerald, a Sierra Leone – Registered vessel manned by Indonesian and Chinese nationals. It will be used for the Dredging and Desilting of Lobo river and nearby estuaries covered by an approved contract between Lobo LGU and Seagate Engineering and Buildsystems, a Filipino Company. Pertinent documents were already submitted to MARINA central office and NSA for issuance of “Special permit for utilizationâ€. Its presence in the area is cleared with PPA. Coast Guard Station in the area is closely monitoring the vessel,” mensahe na ipinadala ni Solcom chief Lt Gen. Gapay.
