Isinisi ng Chinese Embassy sa Pilipinas ang patuloy na paglobo ng illegal Chinese workers sa mga gaming hubs at casino.
Ito ang reaksyon ng Embahada sa plano ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) na paglilipat sa Chinese workers sa hiwalay na community o hub mula sa kanilang pinagta-trabahuan na Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO).
Ayon sa Chinese Embassy, itinuturing na iligal ang ano mang uri ng sugal sa kanilang bansa.
Ipinagbabawal din daw ng Chinese government na masangkot sa pagsusugal ang Chinese citizens, sa loob man o labas ng estado.
“According to the Chinese laws and regulations, any form of gambling by Chinese citizens, including online-gambling, gambling overseas, opening casinos overseas to attract citizens of China as primary customers, is illegal.”
“The casinos and offshore gaming operators and other forms of gambling entities in the Philippines target Chinese citizens as their primary customers.”
Kasalanan umano ng Pilipinas kung bakit maraming Chinese sa bansa dahil patuloy daw ang iligal na pagre-recruit ng gambling industry.
“A large number of Chinese citizens have been illegally recruited and hired in the Philippine gambling industry. In many cases, the employers og Philippine casinos, POGOs and other forms of gambling entities do not apply necessary legal work permits for their Chinese employees. Some Chinese citizens are even lured into and cheated to work illegally with only tourist visas.”
Bukod dito, inireklamo rin ng Embahada ang umano’y iligal na pagpasok ng Chinese funds sa Pilipinas dahil sa pagsusugal.
“Huge amount of Chinese funds has illegally flown out of China and illegally into the Philippines, involving crimes such as cross-border money laundering through underground banking, which undermines China’s financial supervision and financial security.”
Nabatid ng na may ilang Chinese ang nasangkot sa cross-border money laundering, gayundin na maraming naging biktima ng gambling crimes.
May mga Chinese din daw na minaltrato at kinuhanan ng passport ng kanilang mga Pilipinong employer.
“Many of the Chinese citizens working illegally in Philippine casinos or POGOs and other forms of gambling entities are subjected to what media described as ‘modern slavery’ due to sever limitation of their personal freedom.”
Una ng sinabi ni PAGCOR vice president Jose Tria na posibleng ilipat nila ang Chinese workers ng mga POGO sa self-contained communities matapos makatanggap ng ulat ilan sa mga ito ang bastos at hindi maganda ang asal sa mga Pilipino.
