Sinuspinde ng Chinese state television na CCTV ang pag-ere ng mga preseason games ng NBA sa China.
Kasunod ito ng pagdepensa ni NBA Commissioner Adam Silver kay Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey kaugnay sa tweet nito ukol sa pagsuporta sa anti-government protests sa Hong Kong.
“I think as a values-based organization that I want to make it clear … that Daryl Morey is supported in terms of his ability to exercise his freedom of expression,” wika ni Silver.
Sa pahayag ng CCTV, kaagad din nilang iimbestigahan ang lahat ng co-operation at exchanges kung saan may partisipasyon ang NBA.
“We are strongly dissatisfied and we oppose Silver’s claim to support Morey’s right of free expression. We believe that any speech that challenges national sovereignty and social stability is not within the scope of freedom of speech,” pahayag ng CCTV.
Sa kasalukuyan, wala pang tugon ang NBA hinggil dito. (CNBC)
