Pinasinungalingan ni National Security Council (NSC) Assistant Director General Jonathan Malaya ang claim ng China na umano’y gumawa ng mapanganib na maniobra ang barko ng Pilipinas kasunod na rin ng pinakahuling water cannon incident sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).
Giit ni Malaya, rumeresponde lamang ang mga barko ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) sa mga ulat na hinaharass ang mga mangingisdang Pilipino sa naturang lugar.
Ang dalawang barko ay ang BRP Teresa Magbanua at ang BRP Magbuaya.
Gayunpaman, pagdating ng dalawang barko sa lugar ay agad umanong hinarang ng barko ng People’s Liberation Army Navy ang Magbanua habang tuluyan na ring binomba ng tubig ang BRP Magbuaya.
Maliban sa pambobomba ng tubig, hinagip din umano ng Chinese vessel ang Magbuaya, daan upang masiraan ito ng ilang bahagi.
‘The Chinese disinformation, fake news tried to change the narrative by claiming that it’s the Philippines that entrenched to their sovereignty. Again, claiming that the Philippines was the one that provoked that incident or claiming that the Philippines was the one created the conditions upon this incident happen when in fact we had showed the videos and photos…, it was the Chinese vessel that did dangerous ingressive maneuvers and did water cannon and side swept around our vessel,’ pahayag ni Malaya.
Muli ring binatikos ng NSC ang pagtatangka ng China na baguhin ang naratibo sa China.
Ayon pa kay Malaya, sa halip na akuin ang ginawang pambubully, pinapalitan aniya ng China ang kanilang istorya at ibinibintang sa Pilipinas ang ginagawang panghaharass sa WPS.
‘It was report of harassment to our fishermen in that area so immediately we deployed the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and the coastguard vessel there and it was our intent to resupply these Philippine vessels, the fish Filipino fishermen that they can do their fishing for a prolong period of time but unfortunately both BFAR and PCG vessels in particular datu Magbuaya and BRP Teresa Magbanua…, that was blocked and shadowed by a People’s Liberation Army ship,’ dagdag ni ADG Malaya.
