MANILA – Kinumpirma ng Department of Health (DOH) na positibo sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19) ang close contacts o mga nakasalamuha ng Pinay domestic helper na nag-positibo sa bagong variant ng sakit pagdating ng Hong Kong.

“The contacts are positive on RT-PCR initially,” ani Health Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire sa isang media forum.

“But we noted all, expect one had a CT value beyond 30. Meaning the CT value in the laboratory result showed a lower viral load,” dagdag ng opisyal.

Dahil sa natukoy na datos, isinailalim sa whole genome sequencing ang samples ng naturang close contacts.

Dito lumabas na hindi naman sila sa UK variant ng coronavirus nag-positibo.

“To have a more definitive information, whole genome sequecing was done and it showed that the UK variant was not detected in all of the contacts of this Hong Kong case.”

Sa kabila ng hindi pagpo-positibo sa UK variant, inatasan pa ring mag-quarantine ang nasabing close contacts dahil maituturing pa rin silang confirmed case.

Batay sa datos ng Health department, residente ng Solana, Cagayan ang 30-anyos overseas Filipino worker.

Bago lumipad papuntang Hong Kong, dumaan pa ng National Capital Region ang Pinay para pansamantalang manuluyan sa kanyang recruitment agency.

Nasa ospital pa sa Hong Kong ang OFW pero nasa mabuting sitwasyon.

“Itong ating kababayan na nag-test positive she is in stable condition. She was admitted in a hospital but she is stable as of now.”
