Coach ng Kings, Grizzlies, sibak; Cavs mentor, ‘di na babalik

Kabi-kabila ngayon ang nangyayaring balasahan sa ilang mga koponan sa NBA, hudyat ng pagkakasibak ng ilang mga coach.

Ito’y isang araw lamang makaraan ang pagtatapos ng regular season ng liga.

Tinanggal ng Memphis Grizzlies nitong araw ang kanilang coach na si J.B. Bickerstaff.

“In order to put our team on the path to sustainable success, it was necessary to change our approach to basketball operations,” pahayag ni chairman Robert Pera.

“I look forward to a re-energized front office and fresh approach to Memphis Grizzlies basketball under new leadership, while retaining the identity and values that have distinguished our team.”

Kasabay nito, na-demote naman sina general manager Chris Wallace at vice president of basketball operations John Hollinger sa scouting at senior advisory role, ayon sa pagkakasunod-sunod.

Habang iniluklok naman si Jason Wexler bilang presidente, na pangangasiwaan ang basketball at business operations.

Maging si assistant GM/team counsel Zach Kleiman ay itatalagang executive VP of basketball operations, ayon sa ilang sources.

Sa Sacramento Kings naman, sinibak ni general manager Vlade Divac si coach Dave Joerger matapos ang best season ng team mula noong 2005-06.

“After evaluating the season, I determined that we need to move in a different direction in order to take us to the next level,” saad ni Divac sa isang statement. “On behalf of the entire Kings organization, I want to thank Dave for his contributions to our team and I wish him all the best.”

Samantala, hindi naman na babalik ang coach ng Cleveland Cavaliers na si Larry Drew matapos ang malamya nilang season.

Sinabi ni general manager Koby Altman, maghahanap na sila ngayon ng papalit kay Drew at ikokonsidera ang mga college coaches, NBA assistants at mga dati ring head coach.

“We have great respect and appreciation for Larry and the job that he did as the head coach of the Cavaliers for nearly the entire 2018-19 campaign. He brought professionalism, class and steady leadership both this past season and prior four years,” ani Altman.

Matatandaang inalat ang Cavs matapos ang paglipat ni LeBron James sa Los Angeles Lakers noong nakaraang taon at tinapos ang season sa kanilang 19-63 win-loss record.
