Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is looking forward to having pilot mall voting for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataang Elections (BSKE).

According to Commission on Elections Chairperson George Erwin Garcia, if mall registration is possible then so is mall voting.

Once this pilot mall voting will be successful in metro manila, it will be implemented in the whole country’s next elections.

[You don’t have to go to schools that have a long lineup, we don’t have to disturb the schools which we sometimes broke the chairs and other things in the classroom, meanwhile, in malls, no one will disturb you when you’re going to your precinct and at the same time it is comfortable for the voters.]

On the other hand, he gives emphasis that just like the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), their service is about compassion.

He added, it is important that compassion for the people is in the heart and mind of every public servant, and that what’s convenient for the people is the service that they deserve.
