CENTRAL MINDANAO-Naglalayong maipatupad ang Comprehensive Ecological Management Waste Program sa Lungsod ng Kidapawan, alinsunod sa Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 at ng Local Government Code of 1991 na nag-aatas sa mga Local Government Units na magkaroon ng 10-year Solid Waste Management Plan kung saan nakapaloob ang mga konkretong pamamaraan ng pagtapon ng basura at wastong pangangalaga ng kapaligiran.
Binibigyang-diin ng Proposed Ordinance ang Prohibition on the Use and Provision of Non-biodegradable and Single-Use Plastic Bags as Packaging Materials for Customers and Prohibiting the Use of Non-biodegradable plastic bags, plastic straws, plastic cups, plastic cutlery, and polystyrene foam as fod and beverage containers.
Nanguna si SK Kidapawan Federation President at Ex-Oficio Cenn Teena L. Taynan, Chairperson of Environmental Protection, Ecological and Solid Waste Management sa naturang aktibidad na dinaluhan ng iba’- ibang stakeholders tulad ng government, barangay officials, Non-Government Organization o NGOs, youth, school, at iba pa kabilang sina Association of Purok Presidents (Brgy Poblacion) Luz Descartin at Ivy Yecyec mula sa Notre Dame of Kidapawan College. Samantala, sa hanay naman ng City Government of Kidapawan ay dumalo sina Acting City Administrator Janice V. Garcia, Assistant CENRO Ruby Cabiles, City Agriculturist Marissa Aton, BPLO Head Lope Quimco.
