BAGUIO CITY – Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCor) vows to continuously monitor all Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) outlets in the region.

In an interview of Bombo Radyo, PROCor spokesperson Police Major Caroline Lacuata said that it is the first day of implementing President Duterte’s order to stop all PCSO gaming activities including lotto and small town lottery (STL).

PNP Chief General Oscar Albayalde on Saturday led the closing of 12 PCSO outlets in Baguio City together with the officials of PROCor, Baguio City Police Office and the PCSO.

Lacuata shared how PNP chief lauded the cooperation showed by the local lotto and keno outlet owners and staff during the operation.

Latest data from PROCor also showed that 42 PCSO lotto and keno outlets were closed in different provinces of Cordillera particularly in Bontoc, Mountain Province; Kalinga; Abra and Baguio City.

Lacuata reiterated that PCSO outlet owners were given enough time to close their outlets.

President Duterte on Friday has ordered all gaming activities of the PCSO, including lotto, to stop their operation due to alleged massive corruption in the agency while PNP chief Albayalde said that police teams would be deployed to shut down lotto and other PCSO gaming outlets throughout the country./ edited by Bombo Sol Marquez.
