And so Dallas wins the Western Conference Championship after manhandling the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-103.

The turn-around made at Game 4 by ANTS (Anthony Edwards) and KATS (Karl Anthony Towns) was just a mirage, may be even a transfiguration of what they can become in the future.

In that magical game ANTS and KATS were in their magnified elements of being able to score and overcome the Mavericks.

The Timberwolves are fighting against an institutional record that NO TEAM DOWN 3-0 in any series was able to recover and win it.

The correct repartee would be, yes that can be correct but a number of teams have fought back to bring the series to a deciding Game 7.

We were hoping that the Timberwolves have the gumption and the character to do just like that and we were hoping they will put on more fight to make this series interesting.

Unfortunately, the Mavericks are not to be lead along that fantastic script.

After the debacle of Game 4 that they lost 105 to 100, the Mavericks simply buckled down and did what a Championship focused team will do: plan so as to change the outcome of the next game.

The Mavericks were so resolute with their game plan that as early as the first and second quarter they have already built a cushion (35-19 and 34-21) for a challenging 29-point lead at the half.

The domination was so total that Luka Doncic outscored the whole Timberwolves team at the first quarter where he netter a total of 20 points to the Timberwolves 19.

Doncic will score a total of 36 points, the same total that Kyrie Irving will contribute to underscore such a blow-out victory.

On the other end, Edwards will score 28 points, corralled 9 rebounds and dished out 6 assists and Townes will chip in 28 points also. Unfortunately, no other Timberwolves scored in double figures.

This will be the first time since 2011 (lead then by Dirk Nowitzki) that Dallas will be fighting for the World Championship; this time it will be against the well-rested Boston Celtics

It may have been the end of the road for the Timberwolves for this year but their performance showed the promises of a young team.

Consistency and team focus must be laser like in a competitive atmosphere such as the NBA Finals.

The Timberwolves must imbibe within themselves the lesson that a series means winning the prescribed number of games and not be satisfied with a magical one-night performance.

The Timberwolves will hopefully learn from the experience and come out more mature for the next season.

For the meantime they have plenty to further their skills and being the NUMBER ONE DEFENSIVE TEAM of the league will be an awesome building block to count on if they are able to stamp their class and win a future championship.
