Bilang paggunita sa ika-458 taong anibersaryo ni Datu Pagbuayas, inilunsad ng Dapitan City Tourism Office ang Dapitan Annual Slam 2021 Spoken Word Poetry Competition.
Base sa kasaysayan, si Datu Pagbuayas ang nanguna sa isang grupo ng mga Boholanos na dumating sa Dapitan noong 1563 at doon nanirahan na ng permanente.
“Poetry the highest form of literature, influences us because it shows different shades of human beings. In fact, poetry is one of the most ancient arts and also the product of human imagination. It expresses different feelings such as friendship, love, about a place and other human emotions,” wika ni Dapitan City Tourism Officer, Ms. Apple Marie Agolong.
Sinabi ni Agolong na ang nasabing kompetisyon ay mayroong dalawang kategorya.
Ang Category A ay mayroong tema na “Dapitan City Culture and Progress; Datu Pagbuayas Journey: Blending Cultural Diversity Towards a more Vibrant, Resilient & Responsive Community.”
Habang ang Category B ay “on the spot picking.”
