LEGAZPI CITY – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) head Dr. Antonio Ludovice said that dengue cases in the city has reached an alarming total of 3,802 cases while 17 patients died.
Daraga City has the highest number of cases with 580; followed by Tiwi with 445; Guinobatan, 427; Pioduran, 373 and Legazpi with 350 cases.
Ludovice reminded the community to cooperate with the barangay dengue brigade on cleaning the environment as well as controlling the case.
According to Ludovice, a doctor, two nurses and several hospital staff have also contracted dengue.
While some patients claimed that they already had dengue twice.
The official further explained there are four sub-types of dengue and an individual can be immune in a certain virus if he already had it before.
