Nagbabala ngayon ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa mga nagmamay-ari ng mga tourism establishment na tanging ang mga tourism establishments na accredited ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ang dapat na isyuhan ng permit.
Inisyu ng Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos ang naturang notice kasunod ng pagluluwag ng covid-19 protocols partikular sa paggamit ng face masks na nakitang dahilan ng influx sa sektor ng turismo.
Inihayag din nito na sa ilalim ng Republic Act 9593 o “The Tourism Act of 2009 na dapat na magkaroon muna ng accreditation mula sa DOT bago isyuhan ng lisensiya o permit para makapag-operate ng primary tourism enterprises (PTE) ng LGUs.
Sa kabila aniya ng pagsigla ng sektor ng turismo mula sa pandemiya, kailangan pa rin na sundin ng primary tourism enterprises ang mga batas at regulasyon sa turismo.
Ang primary tourism enterprises ay tumutukoy sa mga establishimento gaya ng hotels, resorts at homestays, tour services such as travel and tour agencies and tour operators; tourist transport operators, meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE); tourism frontliners o tour guides.
Nagbabala naman si Abalos na posibleng ipasara ang mga tourism enterprises na mabigong sumunod sa loob ng isang reasonable period.
