Dinepensahan ni Interior Sec. Eduardo Año si National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major Gen. Guillermo Eleazar matapos ulanin ng batikos nang sugurin ang isang pulis na dawit sa kaso ng pangingikil.
Ayon kay Año malinaw na nadismaya lang ang NCRPO chief sa ginawang pagdungis ng suspek sa imahe ng pulisya.
“While General Eleazar has already publicly apologized, his outburst was understandable given the circumstances,” paliwanag ng Interior secretary.
“It was a classic case of a ‘father losing his cool over his son’s misbehavior’ with the goal of correcting it and sending a message to his other children that bad behavior will not be tolerated in his household.”
Dahil dito, ipinagutos ng kalihim sa Philippine National Police na paigtingin pa ang internal cleansing program nito laban sa mga pasaway na kawani.
“There is no place in the PNP for police scalawags, especially those who extort money from drug personalities.”
Hinamon din nito ang mga pulis na patunayan kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na tama ang desisyon nitong pagdodoble pa sa kanilang sweldo.
“They are not only a disgrace to their uniform but to the good men and women of the PNP, many of whom have given their lives in the relentless anti-drug campaign of the administration.”
Nauna ng dinepensahan ni PNP chief police Gen. Oscar Albayalde si Eleazar laban sa mga bumatikos rito.
Ilang mambabatas din gaya nina Sen. Panfilo Lacson at Tito Sotto ang nagsabing tama lang ang ginawang pag-kompronta ng police officer sa tiwali nitong kawani.
Sa kabila nito nanindigan ang NCRPO chief na hindi siya hihingi ng tawad sa mga pasaway na kapwa pulis.
