MANILA – Hindi pa rin inirerekomenda ng mga local health experts ang paggamit ng anti-parasitic drug na ivermectin sa mga pasyenteng may COVID-19.

Ito ang inamin ng Department of Health (DOH), kasunod ng bagong rekomendasyon na inilabas ng Living CPG tungkol sa paggamit ng ivermectin.
Ang Living CPG ay grupong binubuo ng mga doktor at medical socities, kasama ang DOH at Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
“Yung re-evaluation of these newer evidences for ivermectin, still sinasabi nila (Living CPG) insufficient pa rin ang evidence para i-recommend ang ivermectin in the treatment of mild to moderate COVID patients,” ani Health Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire.
“Mayroon din suggestion against the use of ivermectin for the treatment of patients with severe patients… because of the very low quality of evidence found across the globe.”
Dagdag pa ni Vergeire, hindi rin inirerekomenda ng grupo ang paghahalo ng ivermectin at antibiotic na doxycycline bilang panggamot ng mga pasyente ng coronavirus.
“These are all conditional recommendations because of the very low quality of evidences that are existing right now internationally.”
Nitong Lunes nang ianunsyo ng ilang mambabatas sa Kamara ang planong pamamahagi ng ivermectin sa komunidad.
As of April 27, sinabi ng Living CPG na bukod sa hindi inirerekomendang treatment laban sa COVID-19, hind rin nila ini-endorsong magamit bilang prophylactic intervention ang ivermectin.
Vergeire said the Living CPG is a "group of experts comprised of different medical societies, where DOH and FDA are part of."

“We recommend against the use of ivermectin as COVID-19 prophylaxis for the general population (and) for healthcare workers,” nakasaad sa dokumento ng grupo.
“We recommend against the use of ivermectin for COVID-19 as post-exposure prophylaxis for household contacts of confirmed COVID-19 patients.”
Ayon kay Vergeire, makakatulong ang isasagawang local clinical trial para malaman ang tunay na bisa ng ivermectin laban sa coronavirus.
Pero sa ngayon, kailangan daw maintindihan ng publiko na ang pwede pa lang gumamit ng ivermectin ay ang mga ospital na ginawaran ng “compassionate special permit.”
Kinumpirma ng FDA na may limang ospital na ang binigyan ng CSP para magamit ang ivermectin sa kanilang COVID-19 patients.
Ang ivermectin ay isang uri ng anti-parasitic drug o pampurga sa mga hayop.
