The Department of Health recorded 423 new cases of COVID-19 in the past day. This is the highest daily tally in the past three days, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 4,165,499.
According to the DOH’s COVID-19 data tracker, the number of active cases this week is lower at 6,925 compared to the recorded 6,945 on Saturday. This is the lowest tally of active cases in 62 days and the third consecutive day of declining active cases.
The National Capital Region recorded the highest number of new COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days with 1,408 cases, followed by Central Luzon with 952 cases, Calabarzon with 818 cases, Western Visayas with 491 cases, and Ilocos Region with 451 cases.
On the other hand, the number of recoveries increased by 443 cases, while the death toll remained at 66,484 for the fourth consecutive day.
