Tiniyak ni Department of Health (DOH) Sec. Francisco Duque III na kanyang idudulog sa Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) ang mungkahi ng mga medical frontliners na isailalim ulit ang Metro Manila sa enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Duque na naririnig daw nila ang karaingan ng mga healthcare workers.
“We hear you,” saad ni Duque. “Fellow health workers, please know that as the Secretary of Health, I hear your pleas — and I will present these to the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force).
“We have noted in particular your call for a time-out for the NCR (National Capital Region). We will bring it to the full attention of the IATF and present to them more comprehensive strategies to protect our ranks.”
Nangako rin ang kalihim na ginagawa ng DOH ang lahat para mapangalagaan at masuportahan ang mga frontliners.
Makikipagtulungan din aniya ang kagawaran sa National Task Force (NTF) para maipatupad ang mga localized lockdowns at masigurong nabibigay ng national government ang kinakailangang suporta.
“We will revisit and include the inputs we have gathered in our overall gameplan. The DOH will develop this strategy in coordination with our government and non-government counterparts in the next 7 days,” ani Duque.
Pahayag ito ni Duque kasunod ng direktiba ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa IATF na kagyat na tugunan ang apela ng mga medical practitioners.
“Your voices have been heard. We cannot afford to let down our modern heroes,” wika ni Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque. “This is our commitment.”
