Hindi umano makapaglalaro sa simula ng NBA Finals sina Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant at center DeMarcus Cousins.
Ayon kay Warriors coach Steve Kerr, dahil sa right calf strain ay hindi pa rin pinapayagang maglaro si Durant.
Sa kabila naman aniya nito ay nagkakaroon naman daw ng magandang progreso sa kanyang pagpapagaling.
“It’s just how he responds,” wika ni Kerr. “There has never been a point in this process where we’ve been able to say he is going to play on such-and-such date. There still isn’t. Just keep going, keep moving forward.”
Matatandaang hindi na naglaro si Durant mula noong na-injure ang kanyang calf noong Game 5 ng Western Conference semifinals kontra Houston Rockets noong Mayo 8.
Samantala, bagama’t nakalahok na sa kanyang unang full practice buhat nang mapunit ang kanyang kaliwang quadriceps noong Abril 15, hindi pa rin tiyak kung makakabalik na si Cousins ngayong season, partikular sa Game 1.
Kumpiyansa naman ang koponan na makakapaglaro nang muli si Cousins pagkatapos ng umpisa ng serye.
“DeMarcus looked good,” ani Kerr. “He went through the whole practice. He doesn’t have any more pain. Strength in his quad is good. Now it is about conditioning, getting shots up, playing 5-on-5, playing basketball.”
Sa kasalukuyan, hinihintay na lamang ng two-time defending champions ang magwawagi sa Eastern Conference Finals.
Kasalukuyang tangan ng Toronto Raptors ang 3-2 abante sa serye nila ng Milwaukee Bucks.
