Just when the Brooklyn Nets were looking unstoppable they hit a huge bump.

Kevin Durant will miss at least two weeks before being re-evaluated due to an MCL sprain on his right knee.

The injury occurred during the Net’s win over the Miami Heat as Jimmy Butler accidentally fell on Durant’s leg after a drive to the basket.

The former MVP was averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game before the injury as he powered Brooklyn to the no. 2 spot in the East winning 18 out of their last 20 games.

Although Durant will sit out, the team was quite relieved to know that it wasn’t a grave injury as before. However, they need to make up for the absence of Durant if they want to continue to sit in the top of the standings.

Kyrie Irving is definitely the top name that needs to step up with his fellow All-Star sidelined.

He is averaging 26.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in the 2022-23 season.
