Evander Holyfield is still optimistic that his rival Mike Tyson would get in the ring with him again after 24 years.

“The thing is that if it’s meant to be, it will happen; either way, it is what it is,” said Holyfield, who is eyeing a comeback after Tyson made his last year.

The rivalry between the two started in 1996 and was highlighted the following year by the infamous eat bite by “Iron” Mike.

Decades later, Holyfield remains eager to do a trilogy with the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history.

“What I can tell you is that my team is talking to Mike’s management, so I’m waiting for a decision. They are communicating right now. The thing is, I’m still training for this. I know it will be someday this deal will happen, and I’m ready for him. I’m doing OK,” said Holyfield in an article released by The Sun.

Mike Tyson is known for his Iron fist as he recorded 44 knockouts out of his 50 professional wins. He suffered six defeats and two draws.

Meanwhile, Holyfield has the same knockout number on 57 wins, ten losses, two draws, and one no contest.
