DOJ Sec. Menardo Guevarra with Bureau of Corrections chief Nicanor Faeldon

CEBU CITY – Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV suggested to file charges against former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Nicanor Faeldon.

President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the dismissal of Faeldon after the misapplication of good conduct time allowance (GCTA) law where Faeldon approved the release of almost 2,000 heinous crime convicts.

Senate inquiry should include in their investigation if Malacañang and Department of Justice approved the release of the convicts, said the former lawmaker in an interview of Bombo Radyo.

He added that Faeldon’s answers to the question thrown at him in the last inquiry were seem controlled because of his fear from getting caught.

Trillanes reiterated that his colleagues should know the root of such issues to identify who should be held liable. He also revealed that in 2006, Magdalo group removed Faeldon as their member due to his change of path.
