During the hearing of the Senate blue ribbon and justice committiees, Sen. Risa Hontiveros directly asked the BuCor chief if he has any plans on quitting despite the “mistakes” in the implementation of the GCTA law.
But Faeldon confidently said that he will let President Rodrigo Duterte decide for him. He also noted that his office will continue to implement the law even if it is against their will.
The BuCor chief said he never thought of not attending the said hearing even though he already had prior commitments today.
Faeldon was arrested and detained in January 2018 for snubbing Senate hearing investigations in connection with illegal smuggling of drugs on Bureau of Customs (BoC).
Faeldon headed the agency at the time.
Parents of Eileen Sarmenta and Allan Gomez were also present on the hearing.
