The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) urged the public to support the 100th year celebration of quality Filipinos films this year.

FDCP Chair Liza Diño said this following the announcement of 10 incredible films that have been officially selected for Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2019 that will run from September 11 to 17.

This year’s festival coincides with the 100th year celebration of Philippine cinema with its theme “Pamilya, Pagkakaibigan, Pag-ibig.”

The Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino is a project of the FDCP which showcases Filipino films for one week. The films are a mixture of different genres and shown nationwide.

In November 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte signed Proclamation No. 622, declaring September 12, 2019 to September 11, 2020 as the Centennial Year of Philippine Cinema.

The said festival also give credits to the people behind the camera who invested their time in creating the quality films.

“We can’t wait for all of you to see different quality Filipino films that reflect the best that Philippine cinema offers,” said Diño.
