The Department of Migrant Workers denounced the death of a Filipino migrant employed in Kuwait, who was apparently found burned in a desert.
According to the agency, the family of a 35-year-old OFW Jullebee Ranara, has spoken with Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople.
Reports said that the burned remains of Ranara were discovered in the desert. According to the DMW, the son of her employer has been detained by Kuwaiti authorities.
The DMW stated that it was coordinating closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs and was awaiting the official report from Kuwaiti officials.
The department issued a statement saying, “Secretary Ople and the entire DMW condemns this heinous crime and urges the Kuwaiti government to work on the early resolution of the case,”
The 35-year-old OFW was reportedly pregnant, according to an autopsy as reported by local media.
Ople said the DMW would give Ranara’s family all the support they need.
