Ipinalabas sa mahigit dalawampung sinehan sa Estados Unidos ang Filipino independent action-comedy film na “Lumpia with a Vengeance” kasabay ng selebrasyon ng Filipino American History Month.
Kabilang sa star-studded cast ng pelikula ang MMA fighter na si Mark Muñoz, ang Mexican-American actor na si Danny Trejo at ang beauty queen na si Katrina Dimaranan.
Sa exclusive interview ng Star FM Baguio kay Patricio Ginelsa, director ng Lumpia fims, nagpapasalamat ito sa pagkakataong ibinigay sa kanila na maipakita ang kanilang likha, at maibahagi ang kulturang Pinoy sa mas malaking audience sa Amerika.
“It’s not coincidental that we’re releasing the film in October during Filipino American History Month. The movie itself was crowd-funded by our supporters, mostly Filipino-Americans, nine years ago. We’re not backed by any studio, and yet here we are. We’re releasing it in major theater chains, from Ohio, to Florida and to California.”
Nais rin umano ni Ginelsa na idala sa Pilipinas ang pelikula para maipagmalaki sa mga kababayan.
“Hopefully, we can secure distribution and be able to show it to other Lumpia lovers out there who are waiting. It’d be my dream to come back to home (Philippines) and show it there. That would be the perfect cherry on top to end this nine-year journey and counting.”
