First subway borer touches down in PH

Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) includes in the construction of a 36km-long subway in Metro Manila a cutter head of the tunnel boring machine (TBM).

Its arrival today put a rest to everyone’s doubt and fear that the said project might go down the drain again.

The subway will be the first mass underground subway in the country. It will connect North Caloocan in Bulacan and Dasmariñas in Cavite.

Its construction would cost approximately P357 billion and is expected to be completed in 2022.

However, due to the arrival of the TBM, officials are eyeing an accelrated completion by 2021.
